Peter Jeffrey: Homage
Homage
As David Hockney wears odd socks
I had thought that I would too;
Sort of an homage to Hockney
And in part to Howard Hodgkin,
Who also liked a stinging flash
Of green, or gay vermilion slash.
To add homage to Hokusai
I’d sport a white-flecked turquoise tie,
Like that wave off Kanagawa
With purple Fuji in its eye.
