Dear Sister,
                    Do you remember how, once
that summer I was near-fifteen
and we were in the south of France,
we drove all day to see a mountain

then got out to eat thin-sliced salami
bread and one tomato
each? Then we drove back. Still killing me
                                 which goes to show

how long a good resentment will maintain.
So here’s a photograph of you
looking resentful too. That bit of mountain
at your back, is all there is of view.

Clearly this has not been the case
