A Little Ray of Sunbeams

Variations on the Sunbeam frypan recipe for curried rabbit circa 1960

Kill      rabbit in non-toxic trap (do not get myxo-ed up)

Bury    rabbit for one week until the fur pulls off like a glove

Wash   rabbit and soak in salt water bath

Joint    rabbit and talc with flour, salt and pepper

Melt     a little ray of shortening in your Sunbeam

Fry       until golden brown like our wide open plains

Mince apple and onion and throw into mix

Add     curry (Keens from the jar) and stock (from the pot)

Stir      until thicker thickened thick

Last     add banana and cook all until tender as the night

Eat       with spaghetti and sherry and friends

Stay     rabbit on into the wee hours until the beefs come home

For a culture not to change over time would be a reproach and certainly not a cause for celebration, for it would indicate that there had been no capacity to adapt. Clearly this has not been the case
