Mappiness

Just like being there,
only flatter. An unfolded view
of the world; pleasant contours
swing into sharp relief—every road
must wriggle somewhere.
Cheap holidays on your lounge-room floor;
fun-filled foreign destinations, in a box.
Mountain hopping with the eyes;
where few people wander, maps take you,
safely. Join them up for a trek
with no-one you don’t want to be with.
Fingertip pauses at land’s
end—light blue darkens
fathominably.

Clearly this has not been the case
