So let me get this right. In awarding Daniel Andrews the Companion of the Order of Australia, this is what the Federal Labor government considers “eminent service to the people and parliament of Victoria, to public health, to policy and regulatory reform, and to infrastructure development”:
Hotel Quarantine: Daniel Andrew’s COVID policy directly led to the death of 700 Victorians and plunged Victoria into long, ruinous lockdowns. A policy that no one in his Labor government could remember anything about during a public inquiry.
Big Build: A government program so inept that it is costing Victorians $27 billion dollars to build a 10-km road; and has saddled Victoria with shocking debt of $156.2 billion and rising. Money that it is now taken out of hospital funding, schools funding and social services like mental health support and counselling.
Reduction of private enterprise: Victoria was the only state in Australia to see the total number of registered businesses reduce last year – what a feat!
Commonwealth Games: The government bid, won and then withdrew from hosting the Commonwealth Games. The only thing Victorians are left with is a bill of more than $589 million (and growing) as penalty for the contract reneged.
Politicisation of the public service: Here is what the Victorian Ombudsman had to say about Daniel Andrews’ and Jacinta Allan’s treatment of the public service. When speaking to the public servants, “Two sentiments stood out – concern and fear. Concern about what people saw as the quickening corrosion of longstanding Westminster principles of responsible government. Fear that if they spoke up, if they were in any way identifiable as having done so, their careers would be finished.”
Terrorising its own population: A final feather in Daniel Andrews’ cap is that Victoria police working under his guidance handcuffed and arrested a pregnant woman with no criminal record in her home in front of her young children for the crime of putting a fairly mild social media post calling for a protest. (There were many ways to handle the situation, and the police decided on the harshest.)
Victorians today pay the highest fines, penalties and taxes and live with fast eroding rights, potholed roads, underfunded hospitals and public services, housing crisis, record debt, and sky rocketing energy prices. It must be Labor’s idea of Utopia – hence the honour.

Gongs have always been a joke. When the likes of Dictator Dan are in receipt of one we are entering the sick joke realm.
The audaciousness to put Daniel Andrew’s name forward for an Australian Award is breathtaking. It is rewarding arrogance, incompetents and an up yours attitude.
Yes. It is an expression from the self-identified “elite” that the normies, the deplorables, not only don’t matter but that they are deeply despised – so much so that this middle digit in the air says right out loud: “There’s nothing that all you unwashed can do about it”.
Similarly with the private jet group lecturing everyone else about reducing air travel: “Go jump – there’s nothing you can do about it”.
Genuinely spiteful, nasty. The only observation from this side of the barbed wire is that such depth of contempt is a two-way street. We also noted that the development of a “National Cabinet” was, and remains, a deliberate attempt to avoid accountability by presenting an amorphous mass with no discernable method of direct public vote. And the LNP loved that part, including the author of this article.

It says much about the people who did and their delusional and warped view of what is good administration of a public duty .
The echoes of what he “achieved ” will be felt for decades and will still be a burden on our grandchildren .

Why did it take over 80 years for Teddy Sheean, who gave his life for this country and his comrades, to be awarded the Victoria Cross and yet Chairman Dan Andrews, a demonstrable failure, get the highest civilian honour we can bestow within months of retiring with a huge pension ?

On past performance though, given a year perhaps, he will probably not recall why he is not all that popular.
Always remember that we the people elected these political scoundrels into the parliament knowing full well that there is no such thing as Santa Claus, especially when we know what the majority of politicians are like, so it is no use us bitching about the awards, salaries, or lurks and perks they give themselves. Probably, an award as in the “George Cross” awarded to the people of Malta could be given to the people of Victoria except for the fact that they voted Andrews into the parliament. The great pity of it all is that the folks who voted Labor into power in Victoria are now fleeing to Queensland in droves and we Queenslanders already have enough problems of our own with a Labor govt.
It is because there are so many worthy gong recipients that the few almost scandalously unworthy awards should be reviewed. The presence in the list of a few sadly diminishes both the award system itself and the many other recipients who are worthy.
I’m pleased to say that I too have been given a badge by the government: the AC, no less. It was awarded for writing to the ABC. The full title is, of course, Argonauts Club. That’s the only government badge I want! Perhaps I should change my screen name to the full Daffy AC.
Oh and as a young boy, I was in our neighbourhood pals club, named after the TV show: Avengers Club. Also AC, come to think of it.

Out in the far Eastern suburbs of Melbourne like Pakenham and beyond; or out West to Melton and beyond; or North up as far as Whittlesea and beyond; we have couples struggling to provide homes and food for their children.

They worry and work and work and struggle and struggle yet no awards for them. Yet those fortunate to have well paid jobs who do no more than follow their lucrative careers are given awards.

Guess why I don’t pay any regard to most of these “honours”?
Screaming about these bottom-feeder dung beetles now will not help a thing. We lost the battle when 99% of the country fell in love with that meaningless jingle, ‘It’s time’. That was a very long time ago, and I remember the times that the piece of filth who called himself our Prime Minister denigrated our Queen, through our Governor General.
Let me ask my fellow readers these three questions:
1. Do you believe that the Sun rises in the East?
2. Do you believe that our National Anthem is Advance Australia Fair?
3. Do you believe Bandt is not a card-carrying Communist?
If you have answered yes to any or all of the three, then you have your head up your arse.

The King’s birthday honours left me underwhelmed.
My impression,for the most part,was that honours went to those who wrote the best CV’s.
As usual there were too many awards to academics and politicians with no regard as to whether their work benefited the community.
Memo to Liberal parties, State & Federal — being in office has a lot to be said for it. Any ideas about that?
The word ‘audacious’ was used above. Nearly every policy action by the Albo Govt could be so described. Forget the use of evidence, logic, merit and, above all, honesty with the public. Welcome to whatever-it-takes rule by the Socialist Left. And it aint over yet. Indeed with the prospect of a de facto Labor/Greens coalition, it’s hardly begun.
Not to forget the unfortunate 15 year old cyclist Ryan Meuleman who came away from a meeting with the good premier and his wife with fractured ribs, pneumothorax and a ruptured spleen. Catherine was never breathalysed and no police report was filed from the kid. I understand the Andrews had been to a lovely long lunch just prior.

There was much public and quiet hostility to the actions and words of both. Yet both have been appointed to rather comfortable public positions, funded by tax payers, including those who would prefer to have nothing to do with them.

Nick McGowan, just another useless Lib, like the Tories in the UK, the Libs promise much but never deliver, the Vic Libs are particularly egregious, a conga line of useless leaders since Kennett and a bunch of MP’s who would be more at home in the Labor Party than the Libs. They have no ideas, no philosophy just a desire to keep their seats and pensions and rort us voters.
