angus taylorWhen our latest PM split the portfolios of energy and environment he appointed Angus Taylor to the former with what was widely reported as a brief to bring down the cost of power and do so in hurry.

The Minister’s latest tweet is reproduced above. Many will think it a sad contrast with the sentiment below, excerpted from his maiden speech:

We need to stop giving public money to rent-seekers and we must be strong against the loud voices of narrowly-focused interests. Laws passed in this place must not drag down the living standards of the majority by benefiting a few.

The entire address can be read via this link or the one below. In 2013, when he took his seat in parliament, the Minister was also keen on cost-benefit analyses before grandiose schemes are foisted on those who must ultimately pay for them.
