Richard Stanton: ‘Bricks and Owls’

Bricks and Owls

There across the street
is a man laying bricks
each course outlining
becoming the skin of a
dwelling with views to the sea

There across the street
is the sound of a mixer
tumbling mud to become
mortar as an old owl
adds a note above and
beyond a gale force wind
