Jordan Grantham: Rector Magnificus

Rector Magnificus Married and monk amid joys of earth; cloistral hush and sophomore mirth.   Dream of Gerontius and San Gerolamo.   On the Canterbury Road, À la sainte terre saunter.   Tuck away jolly, into an Aussie pie. A Friar’s folly, with a good red wine.   Magister magistris, cling bells, swing sails.   Scent the salted Tiber, a forbidden treat. Lady Poverty could be so sweet, for a Catholic in Anglican calfskins. Jordan Grantham
