Love (3) After George Herbert Despite the evidence my soul drew back not trusting my own experience my soul grew slack cautious hesitant afraid to play the fool uncool amid the sophisticates & yet Love bade me welcome though my soul knowing my march to every drum my lack to every measure my conspicuous flaws clearly showing I would buckle under pressure prove a detriment to the cause Despite the odds quick-eyed Love smoothed my wrinkling brow & soothed me saying You’re ready now D.S.
