Trevor Bailey: ‘Something in the Corner of My Eye’

Something in the Corner of My Eye There is something in the corner of my eye. I sense it when I wake and know it’s no mistake since I trust in pain to hold and clarify. There is something in the corner of my eye that rubbing won’t remove and cursing won’t reprove (though I wonder what would happen if I cry?) There is something in the corner of my eye that hurts and irritates confounds and fascinates for I think I glimpse a life that’s passing by. Trevor Bailey
