Kevin Cowdall: ‘The Darting Kingfisher’

The Darting Kingfisher Perched on an overhanging branch above a slow-moving stream; a vibrant dash of orange and blue against the verdant scheme. The slightest tilt of the head, regarding the steady flow; searching the tangle of shadows cast on the waters below. A movement catches the eye and like a dart it flies— a muted splash, then rapid flash as it rises with its prize. Kevin Cowdall
