  Vegetable Funny how my mother used to eat bowls and bowls of uncooked broccoli, parsley sprigs plucked from the garden, carrots, and peppers, and sugar snap peas. And then those vegetables I’d never heard of, like Okinawan purple sweet potatoes, or Yugoslavian lettuce and fiddleheads.
