Dan Guenther: The Cicadas’ Annual Symphony Returns to Taree

The Cicadas’ Annual Symphony Returns to Taree We listened to the cicadas’ symphony while the twilight faded into pink, watching the numinous wonder emerging from their varied places, and where for all we knew the spirits of previous generations dwelled as remnants within the grey box eucalypts, their essence awaiting an extravagant rebirth in Taree’s annual, open-air debut, a cacophonous dissonance of green grocers and orange masked devils clashing and cavorting in the gathering dusk.
