Wodjila Dreaming

This is Walyunga Pool. At play, other Wodjilas have claimed the rapids for themselves. Leave them and their canoes to the flood, they won’t see the yellow hill that waits as it always did. Giddy scents of freesias greet us when we start to climb. Sprung like memories of childhood’s mystical events, they grow wild here and haunt us still, all the way through shadowy trees and oceans of wild grass until we reach the first yellow earth.
