The Way to the Stars is one of the finest war films of the last century. Scripted by Terence Rattigan and directed by Anthony Asquith, it was based on Flare Path, an immensely successful play also written by Rattigan and directed by Asquith that opened on August 13, 1942, at the Apollo Theatre when London was still under air attack.
