What women want

Those without a subscription to The Australian might have missed today’s letter to the editor from Ms Pam Culper, her point pithily made below:

… Following the election we appreciate that women make their choices about politics, leadership and employment based on many different factors, one of which is their biology.

Tanya Plibersek chose her family over leadership; Claire O’Neil seems to have made a similar choice. The political party was not stopping them, the electorate wasn’t stopping them. They made decisions that suited their circumstances … in countries where every opportunity is provided for women to work, participate in public life and lead political parties or big business, women do not do so at 50-50. They make other choices, personal choices…
