The ABC finds something to celebrate in a Reuters multi-nation survey which asserts that faith in the news media is on the rise. Mind you, there is also the chart reproduced above, which suggests that however much additional trust Australian consumers invest in the media, the overall numbers are nothing to write home about.

    The Society of Jesus mourns the death of Father Gerald (“Gerry”) O’Collins SJ AC. Fr O’Collins died in Melbourne on Thursday 22 August at the age of 93. He had been a Jesuit for 74 years and a priest for 61 years.
