the No tribe

Peter O’Brien’s newly published case for rejecting the Voice will be launched at 6.00pm this Thursday, May 11, at Il Gambero restaurant, 166 Lygon Street in Carlton, where Tony Thomas will officially launch the book.  Tickets ($6) can be ordered here, with last-minute walk-ins also welcome.

More than a chance to meet the author, the evening presents an opportunity for opponents of this racially divisive, legally fraught and still unexplained bid to tamper with the Constitution to understand they are not alone, that the PR campaign being waged by the Yes faction is just that — a lavishly funded blitz of obfuscation and bland assurance intended to obscure the very real dangers the Voice would be certain to spawn.

As Peter says, ‘The Voice must not only fail, it must fail spectacularly’.

At Il Gambero on Thursday, the pushback begins.

How could it not be the Jews? That was the immediate surmise of, let us be frank, noxiously aggressive bigots and anti-Semites. Tayah’s restaurant was in Caulfield, the heart of Jewish Melbourne, there was a synagogue nearby.
