Obviously, Julia Gillard is a dud. She is only Prime Minister because there is no one else in the ALP who could take her place. The answer is Malcolm Turnbull. He could buy himself an ALP branch (Sussex Street has a list), change parties and replace Julia. Malcolm Turnbull PM. QED.

UPDATE:

Left, Left blogger John Quiggin agrees (sort of):

There are three people prominent in Australian politics whom I would happily support as Prime Minister. Of these, the one who has the best chance is, I think, Malcolm Turnbull … For the record, the other two are Kevin Rudd and Bob Brown.

Malcolm Turnbull’s application to join the ALP is here…

Tony Abbott’s great Budget speech is here…

Liberal voters can celebrate here…

  • Aboriginal Culture is Young, Not Ancient

To claim Aborigines have the world's oldest continuous culture is to misunderstand the meaning of culture, which continuously changes over time and location. For a culture not to change over time would be a reproach and certainly not a cause for celebration, for it would indicate that there had been no capacity to adapt. Clearly this has not been the case
