Abbott beat-up backfires
Suddenly everyone in the media was an expert in sex advice:
Professor Catharine Lumby (that’s Catharine with-three-tertiary-degrees Lumby), that outstanding success story of Australian Rugby League sex re-education, bought into the Tony Abbott “sex-before-marriage” beat-up at the Punch on Wednesday.
Reading the comments, it became apparent that if Australian parents were to choose anyone other than themselves to give advice to their children about pre-marital sex, Tony Abbott would be preferred by far to Catharine Lumby.

To claim Aborigines have the world's oldest continuous culture is to misunderstand the meaning of culture, which continuously changes over time and location. For a culture not to change over time would be a reproach and certainly not a cause for celebration, for it would indicate that there had been no capacity to adapt. Clearly this has not been the case
