Some Clicks Beyond Manar
We lunched with three world citizens
some clicks beyond Manar.
Ten thousand trees unsleeved their bark
in draperies of light and dark,
where trade was brisk with fairy wrens,
October up to par.
We strolled with three wise heads, they showed
us peace beyond Manar,
where cumquats glowed like neon eggs,
a brown dog loped on sapling legs,
banksias, hatted à la mode,
served bees with savoir-faire.
We talked of making books and homes
light years beyond Manar.
Our talk, our listening had an essence
allowing each to show full presence,
for Eden’s in the chromosomes
Some clicks beyond Manar.
