Ridiculous

In this moment
I see the word
for the first time
and can’t get over
how silly singlet sounds
sing let
Who first named one?
sin glet
What possessed them?
singl-et
What possible derivative?
A cotton cloth
of one thickness
unlined and worn
close to the skin
so a sweatsoaker
or windshield perhaps
but a singlet?

Let us sing in unison
Ridiculous.
