MeToo Comes to France

The MeToo movement, which originated in the United States, has not spared France; yet, for a time, this movement of denunciation met with more resistance and reticence than in Anglo-Saxon countries. France was the country of gallantry par excellence, and as a result the French were indulgent about the sexual escapades of their neighbours, especially powerful people.
