Monochrome The world has lost its colour since the days when scarlet lake and deep vermillion roared in windswept splendour over dusky shores and cobalt varnished waves with raucous glaze. My Derwent universe has sunk in greys that strike a single note, a blended chord; the non-conformist hues have been ignored and clouds of neutral shades have garnered praise. Yet some still reach for those neglected pencils that languish in the box in vivid shame. They dare to paint an old scene on the page; refuse to trace their thoughts within a stencil.
