Andrew Lansdown: Two Poems

Heron   i Treading the marsh with the grace of a geisha— white-faced heron.   ii So Japanese— haijin focus, ninja stealth— stalking heron.   iii Always composed however it stands, steps, stabs— white-faced heron.                 Splendid   i A female wren— no bigger than the gumnut it’s perching on.   ii Even greyer than a weathered honky-nut— the female wren.   iii If not in colour, at least in shape—the female splendid blue wren.              Andrew Lansdown
