Edmund Capon’s Survey of Artful Mavericks

At the end of 2013, ABC television presented a three-part series, The Art of Australia. It was co-produced by Screen Australia, the ABC and the BBC as well as Serendipity Productions and Wall to Wall Media. The presenter was the highly acclaimed expatriate Englishman Edmund Capon. An expert in Chinese art, he came to Australia in 1978 as Director of the Art Gallery of New South Wales, to which position he was recommended by the Premier, Neville Wran, and at which post he remained until 2011.
