I did not hear all of the views aired during ABC Radio’s Big Ideas program on native title, but I did hear some of the views of former Justice Michael Kirby. As a result, I was a little apprehensive, because he spoke as though he had no knowledge of the statutory and other bureaucratic history in Aboriginal affairs since 1967 and it seemed to me he might be on the verge of urging governments to reinvent the wheel in Aboriginal affairs.
