Friendship

In the church the travelling reliquary of Saint Thérèse of Lisieux: its ornate box parked where the faithful could process around a bit of thigh bone or finger. Still, two faithful ones, we sat on talking softly in one of the back pews. You were home from travels, I the one who awaited praying in this plainer church. You the more faithful in my judgement I thought as the queue went circling and then, after crossing themselves, out the door of this saint who had promised petals as a sign from heaven and how they might fall?
