Labor is in a ferocious battle to stop the Melbourne seat of Batman going to the Greens, yet with only days to go before residents set aside their mung beans and muesli and head to the polls, Bill Shorten was sufficiently confident to tear the covers off a policy that will screw an estimated one million retirees. That’s confidence, folks, or hubris if you prefer.
