Arts funding: Still a disgrace

In 2008, Quadrant‘s Michael Connor assailed the institutional corruption that has turned arts funding into a feedlot for friends and the politically like-minded, which is to say fellow members of the grant-suckled left:

“Government interference in the arts, even with good intentions, has created self-censorship, conformity and banality. Though government provides the money, the Left elite who occupy all positions in the art administrations determine who gets it and dictate what causes are favoured and nurtured.”

With Overland’s poetry editor proudly refusing to publish the work of authors who also publish in Quadrant (and likening conservatives to Nazis, just for good measure), the past five years have only seen the stink grow more noxious.
