Re-educating the Messiah

Not your old time religion:

If Jesus can change, if He can give up his bigotries and prejudices, if He can realize that He had made His life too small, and if, in this realization, He grew closer to others and closer to God, then so can we.

The above from lesbian bishop Karen Oliveto of the US United Methodist Church, who hasn’t been invited to consecrate the NRL Grand Final with a prayer to “that bigot Jesus”. No doubt the sport’s organisers wish they had heard of her sooner.
