Did Mr A.T. Jelly, probably of Nedlands, Perth, play some small role in 1952 in ameliorating Cold War tensions and bringing about a more peaceful world? He was walking along the Stirling Highway footpath near the State Saw Mills, and I, as an eleven-year-old, blocked his way. I presented him with a petition for a Five Power Peace Pact between the USA, UK, France, the Soviet Union and China.
